In the mid nineties, straight out a graduate management program in London, UK, I was sitting in the server room of London's Gatwick Airport writing an SQL query to solve a revenue loss problem caused due to the non-availability of aircraft stand maintenance schedule and information to paying airliners.
Little did I know then, that data is a good reflection of any business process, a business model and eventually the business strategy. And a purposeful leader with the know how to "act on data", is able create enterprise value worth billions of dollars.
But, what about the heart and the mind of a leader or an executive who has to make those big decisions, in order to get faster results? What about their preparedness and their abilities as well as their eco-system, in enabling them to make systematically good decisions?
